SHAH ALAM: Molotov cocktail attack that damanged a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) car is not linked to the death of political aide Teoh Beng Hock, said Selangor police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar.
"We have established a clue to the case, but it has nothing to do with Teoh's death," he said.
The investigation of the case was close to completion, he said but declined to elaborate further.
Last Thursday, a four-wheel drive vehicle belonging to the MACC branch here was damaged in a Molotov cocktail attack at the old district land office off Jalan Kota here.
When asked if the attack was done to express dissatisfaction with MACC, DCP Khalid said it was possible.
He was speaking to reporters after a dialogue with several non-governmental organisations from the Indian community in Selangor at the state police headquarters here Wednesday.
On police report lodged by Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd president and CEO Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing against Transport Minister Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat, DCP Khalid said the police would refer the case to the MACC as it was power-and-money-abuse-related claims. - The Star
