PUTRAJAYA: The recent spate of events which resulted in the Malay-sian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) being heavily criticised has taken a toll on its officers, especially the young ones.
Commissioner Datuk Seri Ahmad Said Hamdan, who said this, added that his boys were currently under “tremendous pressure”.
“There have been a lot of criticism and allegations against my men and they are affected by all this. After all, they are human.
“But what I am proud of is that despite some experiencing trauma because of the pressure, they continue to work and are doing a very good job in fighting corruption. I am proud of my men,” he told reporters at the commission’s excellence award presentation ceremony yesterday to 146 MACC personnel by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz.
Ahmad Said said the MACC had counsellors to speak to his officers.
“I have told my men that we will continue to fight corruption no matter what. We will continue to do our job as we have been given the responsibility. We will do it without fear or favour,” he said. - The Star.
